Judging Completed
Judging is now completed for the 2009 WA State Amateur Brewers Competition. A total of 174 beers were evaluated, with a final 7 beer “best of show” round to determine the all-grain beer of show.
A huge thank you to the patience of all involved today, judges and stewards alike. We had an unfortunate situation whereby electricity was cut to the building early in the judging. Everyone worked together to finish the competition, with power being restored just in time for the beer of show round.
All entrants winning 1st, 2nd and 3rd place category positions will be emailed this week to inform them of their eligibility to enter into the National AABC in Canberra on October 23rd and 24th. The details of their place will not be revealed until the awards night on 1st October at Mad Monk.
I’m pleased to announce a number of prizes for this year, including:
- $250 TWOC Brewing voucher, for the TWOC Brewing Trophy (Champion Brewer of Show)
- Brew day at Mad Monk Brewery, for the all-grain beer of show winner
- $100 Malthouse Brew Supplies voucher, for the kit beer of show winner
Category prizes will include Better Bottle fermenters, Malt courtesy of Cryer Malt, and vouchers courtesy of Brewmart.
Thanks again to all our sponsors, including our venue for today, La Vigna Liquors. See you all at the awards!

The awards night is now confirmed, and will be on the 1st of October at Mad Monk Brewery Restaurant. For more details, see the Awards Night Flyer.
Full results will be released online the day after the awards night.
