This competition is open to all amateur brewers residing in Western Australia: Only amateur or homemade products may be entered.
Brew On Premises beers are not permitted for entry.
An entry form must be completed in full and submitted along with all entries.
A registration fee of $5.00 will be charged per entered Brewer.
An entry fee $4.00 will be charged per entered Beer.
All entries must be received by 5:00pm, 5th September. Any entries not received at designated entry points prior to this date will not be eligible for judging.
Brewers will be restricted to 1 entry per style and a maximum 2 entries per brewer per category.
Entrants must specify both the category and the style that they wish their beer to be judged as, per the AABC Guidelines supplied on this website.
A minimum of 1 litre of beer is required for entry, preferably two 750ml glass or PET containers.
Kegs or other similar pressure vessels are not eligible for entry. Containers or bottles larger than 2 litres in size are also not eligible for entry.
Bottles or containers will not be returned to entrants.
The organisers, stewards, judges or associates will not be responsible for the loss or damage to any entry.
Completed bottle labels must be attached to each bottle using the supplied instructions. No other identifiable label or mark should be attached, etched or otherwise marked on the bottle.
Judges decisions will be final and undisputable.
Medals will be awarded for the best entry in each category, provided the category has a minimum of six entries. Beers will be judged as per the category and the category style guidelines providing they satisfy criteria of the rules.
Sponsors may enter the competition, but are not eligible for medals or prizes.
To be eligible for champion brewer, a brewer must enter a minimum of three beers. The champion brewer medal will be awarded to the brewer with the highest average score over their three top scoring beers.
The champion brewer will receive one “Alpha-Amylase” ticket to the Australian National Homebrew Conference (ANHC) 2010 in Melbourne. If the champion brewer is unable to attend ANHC, the ticket will be awarded to the highest placed runner-up champion brewer who is able to attend. If the champion brewer has already been awarded a complimentary ticket from ANHC for some other reason, the ticket will be awarded to the next highest-placed champion brewer.
Prizes will also be awarded to the best kit beer of show, best all-grain beer of show.
Entries awarded 1st, 2nd or 3rd place will be eligible for entry into the 2010 National AABC Competition.
Full results, including scores for all entries will be released on the competition website. By registering for this competition you agree for your preferred name and score results to be published on the competition website.
